Selected Works
This series emerged from an effort to work through a creative block and the anxiety that was interfering with my ability to make art. Before beginning this body of work, I had always relied on inspiration arriving first. With this series, I shifted my approach entirely.
Each painting began with showing up to a blank canvas with no clear idea of what I was going to create. I had to learn to accept the possibility of wasting time and materials, of creating something “ugly,” and of confronting the discomfort of seeing that reflected back at me. I worked this way for four years: no vision, no intention to project a specific emotion, and no predetermined meaning. Instead, I practiced letting go, sitting with discomfort, making shapes, and “listening” rather than expressing.
This process offered very little flexibility or control. I was often locked into strict compositional
limitations. Still, I am deeply grateful for what this series taught me and unlocked within me. It gave me something essential for my development and for my creative path ahead.

Through this series, I discovered not only the flow of creativity that can emerge from spontaneity and surrender, but also something spiritual—beyond catharsis. I encountered a presence larger
than myself that could interact with the process: a subtle, guiding force offering direction while slowly unveiling meaning, and, at different times, new perspective, premonitions, and healing.

More than the finished works themselves, this series made me fall in love with creating in an entirely new way—one I had not yet accessed in over 20 years of making art.
The process I connected to feels sacred to me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my work.
